This is officially a week of mourning for Obama supporters and fans as we prepare to say goodbye to Barack and Michelle and begrudgingly welcome our new commander-in-chief. But we're thankful President Obama is giving us sweet moments to enjoy right up until the end, like this adorable message he tweeted this morning wishing wife Michelle a happy birthday for the last time while in office.
"To the girl from the South Side who took on a role she didn't ask for and made it her own," he wrote in sharing the cute picture below, "Happy Birthday, Michelle. I love you."

Today, Mrs. Obama turns a remarkable 53 and looks better than ever. We imagine the love and adoration from her husband of nearly 25 years might have something to do with that. As Veronica Wells noted in her piece last week following President Obama's farewell address, one of POTUS' "<a href="http://madamenoire.com/777831/one-of-president-obamas-greatest-legacies-will-be-his-love-of-the-girl-from-the-south-side/">greatest legacies will be his love of the girl from the south side."</a> In that speech he stated:
<blockquote>“Michelle… Michelle LaVaughn Robinson, girl of the South Side…For the past 25 years, you have not only been my wife and the mother of my children, you have been my best friend. You took on a role you didn’t ask for and you made it your own, with grace, and with grit and with style and good humor. You made the White House a place that belongs to everybody. And a new generation sets its sights higher because it has you as a role model. So, you have made me proud and you have made the country proud.”</blockquote>
We couldn't agree more. Happy Birthday FLOTUS!
